A former musician by profession, accepted Islam in Africa in 1971 after extensive travel and search for the original and unadulterated Divine system of life. He Consequently completed a degree from Jami’ah Ummul Qura Makkah Mukarramah, faculty of Dawah Wa Usool Deen with specialization in the sciences of Quran and Hadith.

He was deputed by Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Baz, Chief Mufti, Saudi Arabia as a teacher to Jami’atul Uloom Al Islamia Binnori Town, Karachi 1985. He served there teaching the various Islamic sciences, as well as other well known Islamic institutions.

He also served as Chairman of the company that he formed in 1998; Al Khair Creative Quality Ware, a company that strives to provide humanity with beneficial products aligned with a healthy, meaningful lifestyle,

He was deeply disturbed by the heavy influence that the materialist based life style has had on the Muslim Ummah in general and yearned to see the revival of the spirit and manifestation of Ubudiyyah in every facet of life, starting by transforming their business activities from a worldly activity to a religious duty and act of worship, as was the case of earlier Muslim Ummah. He therefore initiated the idea of UBM and has since been the driving force behind the development of this model. Recent recessions and financial crises have further highlighted to humanity at large that the materialistic business model has failed and the dire need for an alternate system is now a universal call.

Faisal is a Management Consultant, an MBA (Marketing) having a degree in Islamic Sciences (8-year Shahadatul Alamiyah program) & over three decades of rich experience in the corporate world including Siemens and Macter. He has served at senior leadership positions as Head of HR, Head of Information Systems and Head of Shariah Compliance. Equipped with solid understanding of business, Faisal has trained thousands of people on diverse subjects such as Leadership, People Management, Balanced Score Card, Culture Change, Personal Excellence, Interviewing Skills, Performance Appraisals, Communication Skills etc.

At a very young age, he was awarded by Siemens for outstanding performance as Project Manager for Culture Change. During this time, he also developed a Leadership Excellence intranet website which was included in the global Good Practices Database of Siemens AG.

He is an expert on linking strategy with execution (through Balanced Scorecard), Change Management, Competency Assessment, Succession Planning, Talent Management, Job Evaluations and also supervision of Lean-Sigma projects.

Since 2011 he was actively involved in the Shariah Compliance initiative of a pharmaceutical organization where he successfully supervised gap analysis, implementation and audits. He simultaneously worked on Ubudiyyah Business Model (UBM) along with a team of Ulama and professionals and as Project Manager, played a key role in its development. Further, with his in-depth experience of Change Management, he designed a unique system that facilitates development of Ubudiyyah Culture in the workplace.

Mufti Najeeb has a distinguished career in teaching Islamic Law/Fatwa, Islamic Jurisprudence and Sharia Standards. He is currently teaching at Jamia Darululoom Karachi and is also the Principal of Hira Foundation School (O Levels) Karachi. He is a visiting Faculty Member of Sheikh Zaid Institute, Karachi University, PAF KIET University, LUMS Lahore and other Institutions. He has played an important role in the preparation of Pakistan’s Halal Standards.

Mufti Najeeb has been a Member of Pakistan Quality & Standards Control Authority (PSQCA) Technical Committee on Development of Halal Food Standards; Member of Committee on International OIC Halal Standards; Member of numerous Committees of State Bank of Pakistan on Islamic Finance & Banking, Sharia Advisor to leading Banks, and also a Sharia Consultant to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).

Mufti Ejaz Ahmad Samadani is a renowned scholar who specializes in the areas of Islamic business and finance. He has authored several books on Islamic finance, Islamic business, Takaful and other topics. He is also responsible for issuing Fatawas on different Islamic topics in Darul Ifta, Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi and has issued more than three thousand fatawas on different Islamic topics especially with reference to Islamic Finance and family laws.

He is one of the two senior Muftis who have checked and approved the UBM guidelines.

Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed earned his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University, US in the discipline of Finance. Professionally, he is a CFA and has passed all CPA examinations. Currently, Dr. Zeeshan is Dean at Al-Qadir University Project Trust.

He served as the Rector and Dean of KSBL, an emerging business school set up by Engro group. Earlier, he was heading the undergraduate program at LUMS business school. Dr. Zeeshan has over 25 years of diverse experience in teaching, training, consulting and research.

He has conducted multiple trainings and workshops on topics such as Finance for Non-Financial Managers, Corporate Financial Management, Management Development Program, Understanding Corporate Financial Statements, Islamic
Finance, and Accounting for Executives. He has also served on the board of country’s eminent Islamic Schools. His mission and passion is to change the society by reforming the education system. He has also studied traditional uloom under the tutelage of eminent scholars.

Mufti Bilal Ahmed Qazi

Mufti Bilal Ahmed Qazi is MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. He also holds Al-Aalamiyyah (a Master’s degree in Arabic & Islamiat) and specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence from Jamiah-tul-Uloom Ul-Islamiyah Binori Town and Jamia Darul-uloom, Karachi. He serves as the Shariah Board Member of Summit Bank, Soneri Bank, and Al Baraka Bank Pakistan. Mufti Bilal has written over two thousand Fatwas on various issues of high importance. Worked on managerial positions on project site, central procurement function, manufacturing setup, project procurement and corporate procurement.  He is a specialist for operational & strategic procurement with in-depth understanding of processes and procedures related to latest SCM concepts for sustainable SCM, CSR, SRM, Governance, compliance and green supply chain.

He has worked on UBM along with a team of Ulama and professionals for supply chain function. Played a key role in development of processes and guidelines for supply chain module of UBM. Performed  pilot audit for UBM in supply chain function in an industrial set-up.

Dr. (Mufti) Mohammad Omer Rafique

Dr.(Mufti) Mohammad Omer Rafique has a well-rounded experience having participated in gap analysis of all major functions of multiple organizations.

He is also a fatwa practitioner at Darul Ifta, with over six years of rich experience in the Islamic law. He has answered over 3000 queries on different topics.  As UBM Shariah Consultant, he has served multiple organizations including The Indus Hospital and Qordata (software house). Equipped with solid understanding of Shariah, he has a strong background of research, teaching, training and publications in recognized journals, especially in Islamic finance.

He has a PhD from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur; a Masters degree in Economics; Arabic & Islamic Studies and Bachelors in Commerce. He is also part of faculty at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi.

Muallimah Zahra Baintner

Sister Zahra Baintner is a German revert who accepted Islam at the age of 14. She later on completed Hifz of Quran and obtained an Aalimah degree from Pakistan. She translated several Islamic books of authentic Ulama into English.

She served as faculty member in the Aalimah Program and has taught Tafseer of Quran, Hadith and Fiqh.

Currently she is teaching various Islamic sciences.
